This cool solar gadget is made by Husqvarna and is similar to the idea of the infamous “Roomba” cordless, robotic vacuum cleaner.  Powered by small solar panels on top, the solar automower will trim your lawn without expending any energy…. electric or human.

Its the essence of what dads love best – a clean looking yard, and the ability to drink a beer or catch a game inside while all the hard work is done:

While you can get an automower for about $1,200, you may need to shell out nearly $3,000 for the solar powered option. Before you panic, I have found several sites at which you can get a solar automower for $1,650-1,800.

When there is daylight available, the solar cells enable the mower to extend its cutting periods before it needs recharging.
