Solar powered golf carts use energy from the sun to charge their batteries

Golfing is a (usually) relaxing recreational pursuit, most often enjoyed on sunny days.  So why not draw on solar power for golf carts?  Solar Carts, LLC will start offering its Sun Eagle solar powered golf cart on June 1, 2011.  Actually, the product is a photovoltaic (PV) solar panel retrofit for existing golf carts – that makes it even easier to implement!

For just $999.99, a 210-watt PV solar panel can be installed on a golf cart.  Solar power will recharge the vehicles batteries instead of conventional charging.  The driving range is usually extended, and electricity costs can be reduced.

From June 1- July 15, SolarCart is offering the deal to only its first 100 customers in Florida.  After that date, the company will decide whether to extend its offer to additional customers and/or outside of Florida.  Compared to other solar golf carts or retrofits, which range in price from $2,500-$9,000, SolarCart’s deal is much more affordable.  Owners of a Sun Eagle system may also qualify for the 30% solar tax credit.

Solar Carts is now taking orders and deposits from customers.  The final retail price for a Sun Eagle solar powered golf cart after the promotion ends on July 15 will be determined at a later date.

  1. golf cart says:

It is new energy, but it is not very useful in the rainy day.

  2. Solar energy can be use only during sunny days. However, despite the fact that it is used only in limited seasons but it would be great less on your expenses on your electric bills. Still many are trying to have this thing.
