Don't let the sun go down on solar energy

Where will we be a year from now with respect to solar energy?  Too close for comfort, or not close enough?  Don’t know for sure?  Well, then consider the question of where we might be in 3 years, 5 years or more.

Don’t you think that it makes sense to think about not being limited by technology, etc. when it comes to renewable energy resources?  In my life, I have observed that, when someone throws cold water on an idea, everyone else in the room tends to agree that its a “bad idea.”  I am all about making sure that doesn’t happen to solar energy.  Put away the buckets now!

Who will be the future cheerleaders for solar energy?  There is no question that we need leaders that can stand up to the nay-sayers and negative press.  If you believe in an idea, others will too.  But you have to convey your beliefs in a strong, positive manner.

Do you believe in alternative energy sources like solar power?  If so, what are you doing to help advance the cause?  If you are not doing this work, why not?  Are you prepared to allow big oil to keep drilling and deleting fossil fuels to the point that the cost increases such that we cannot afford it, and we risk future generations enjoying cheap energy?

If you are on the side of clean, alternative energy, then what will you do?  Check out what happens when you Google the phrase,”future of solar energy”:

The bottom line is that even if we all agree that using renewable energy is the way to go, each of us has our own ideas of how to accomplish this goal.  Let’s examine our community organization resources together (starting with some of the websites above).  Through blogs like this one, we can connect and support each other in our overall goal to transition to clean, alternative energy.  YOU are the future of solar energy.

The day is dawning for a new, solar world.  The future is here.  We are living it now.

  1. There are three responses an individual can take regarding the energy situation:

    1. Someone else smarter than me will take care of it.
    2. I can help others smarter than me to work on this.
    3. I’m smart enough to solve my own energy problems and will do so.

I’m working with people in group number 3 to become energy self-sufficient on http://www.cheetahpower.net. We don’t need to wait for a government, big company, or the failure of fossil fuels to become energy self-sufficient. Also, if you are smart enough to invest in a 401k for retirement, you are smart enough to become energy self-sufficient and really have a secure retirement.

    Michelle,

You have a great looking site at cheetahpower.net. I’m thrilled to hear of people and organizations like yours. I’ll see you over there too,

    Stephanie

  3. Stephanie, I am pleased to know about your site, sorry that I did not notice the in-bound link to Futurist.comearlier. Thanks for that. Everywhere I go I explain to people that solar energy is a pathway to the future, probably the best energy pathway. Maybe you saw in today’s (03/18/09) Huff Post a nice article by Robert Redford making this same argument. We keep good company! We’ll be recommending your site in the future. Glen H.

    Hi Glen,

Thanks for dropping by. Yes, I read R. Redford’s article today too. It is nice company, isn’t it? I like wind power too, but solar seems to be our best bet, as far as permitting issues, affordability and portability.

I appreciate the recommendation. Best, Stephanie

  5. The future for Solar Enerby is base on the information. The people have to know what are the most important themes related with solar panels and the diferents application.

In this way, I want to share with you this educational videos.
