The American Solar Energy Society “Solar 2009″ national solar conference is next week: May 11-16, in the Buffalo/Niagara, NY area. And, its not too late to register! However, I would recommend doing so online instead of at the conference itself to save an extra $100.

This is the place to connect with solar power entrepreneurs, innovators and other leaders in the industry. In short, let’s get pumped up about solar energy! The annual event is now in its 38th year:
“This national conference helps you understand the new drivers and hidden opportunities in the trillion-dollar green economy. With today’s market volatility, you can’t afford to fall behind. Attend SOLAR 2009 – and gain the insight and build the connections you need to stay ahead.”
Can’t attend Solar 2009 this year? Fortunately, you can live vicariously through the blog. Among many highlights of the conference is the “Solar Success!” training program, offered on a number of days. Whether you have a solar start-up business, or are already experienced, if you are going to Solar 2009, this is probably worth your time:
“The future of solar energy has never looked brighter with enhanced federal tax incentives for businesses and homeowners, new state rebate programs and strong support in the economic stimulus package for renewable energy and green job creation. Small businesses are poised to take advantage of these tremendous opportunities. Now is the time to accelerate your solar business!”
Those companies that are a part of Solar 2009 will reach more than 4,000 people looking for solar products. Not only is the conference well attended, but more than 90% of attendees have rated the conference as “good to excellent.”
But what if you don’t have a solar business? No worries! Solar 2009 is still for you. Next Friday and Saturday (May 15-16), public events are scheduled to help you learn how to use solar energy at your own home or business. Its super affordable, at a cost of $5 online or $10 for adults over age 18. People younger get in free!
If I was in the New England area, I would seriously consider attending Solar 2009!
What do you think? Will you be there next week?
