Solarflora blooms with clean solar electricity
When it comes to renewable energy, one of the biggest stumbling blocks for some people is aesthetics. While we are used to power lines and dams, we still don’t like the look of wind turbines or solar panel farms.
Enter Solarflora. This creation combines solar energy generation with public art. The flower-like sculpture (shown above) holds three solar panels that can efficiently capture sunlight and convert it to electricity. Nectar Design is the manufacturer, and you can now see its unique design at New City Schools’ urban garden in Long Beach, California.
