You can now enjoy nature-created melodies like nothing you’ve ever experienced with Composer Craig Colorusso of MUDD Music’s invention. SunBoxes create a symphony from solar power, which varies depending on sunlight and the time of day (early morning or late afternoon sun strikes the panels at different lengths).
As shown above, an array of 20 SunBoxes can be positioned outdoors. Each SunBox contains an individual guitar music sample, of varying lengths. As sunlight hits the solar panels, hauntingly beautiful ambient sounds emerge. Just as no two snowflakes are alike, you won’t get the same solar powered symphony. Variations in the environment and even the positioning of each SunBox result in a new musical creation each time.
Take a listen:
Creator Colorusso observes that not only are SunBoxes environmentally-friendly in that they are powered entirely by the sun – there are no electrical cords and no batteries – but they also create an “environment to enter.”

At SunBox concerts, attendees are allowed to walk among the speakers. The sound changes as you move through them, particularly as the proximity to one set of speakers will change the experience than if you were on the opposite side, listening more directly to other speakers.

Any chance there are any sun boxes for sale?
Any concerts scheduled for Southern California?
The sound is incredibly beautiful. Thanks for creating them.
